Day in the life of an Innovation Engagement Lead
A day might start on-site at a client’s office for a weekly check-in on how a project is doing. Here we’ll be laughing about funny things that have happened over the weekend, before moving into a project stand-up and a retro of how the last week has gone. As a member of the Ninety team, we’ll always be looking for a fun and creative twist that we can bring to these sessions, taking the client out of their day-to-day.
Once the session is wrapped up, I’ll head back to the office, clear a few emails and have a couple of internal meetings. These could be anything from 1-1’s with the team, business strategy sessions or project planning meetings. Over the course of the day, I’ll be interacting with most of the Ninety team, from sales and internal innovation to operations and delivery team.
With meetings and emails wrapped up, I then might prep for an upcoming workshop session. Here I’ll be meeting with the innovation consultant(s) on the project and talking through the agenda of how things will run and checking in on how the deck and other prep is coming along. We might do a quick run through to make sure everything is ready. Finally, I’ll go through the project plans for the accounts that I’m managing, ensuring everything is looking to plan and budget and make adjustments where needed. I’ll touch base with a couple of clients and then head home.
How I came to Ninety
Entrepreneurship at UCL so had a mixture of theoretical and practical experience in the space. When I came across Ninety, the company was very much a startup itself and it brought together three areas of interest for me at the time; startups, innovation consulting and social enterprise (I’d been supporting another social enterprise).Since joining Ninety, two years ago, it’s been an exciting growth journey from a business perspective, we’ve worked with great clients on innovative projects. There have been brilliant opportunities to travel and develop personally and it’s also a company that has been a bit of a magnet for ambitious people with a strong social conscience, so a fantastic place to work.
